General
What makes PACT different from Upwork or Fiverr?
We are not a marketplace. We are a Protocol. You don't browse
profiles here. You bring your own client or freelancer, and use PACT solely to structure the
agreement, hold the money, and enforce the deadline. We provide the trust, you provide the talent.
General
Is it really "No Cure, No Pay"?
Yes. If the Agent fails to upload Valid Proof by the deadline, the
funds can be returned to the Buyer. This aligns incentives perfectly: Agents only work if they can
deliver, and Buyers only pay if they get results.
General
Can I cancel a PACT?
Yes, as long as the agent has not yet uploaded proof. Cancellation
triggers an instant refund
minus network processing fees.
Financial
Where is the money held?
Funds are held in a secure Stripe Connect escrow account. Neither the
Buyer nor the Agent can touch the funds while the Pact is Active. PACT (the platform) also cannot
touch the funds except to execute the final payout or refund.
Financial
What are the fees?
We charge a small fixed Protocol Fee based on the value of the Pact
(£3 / £5 / £10). This
covers the escrow service, dispute resolution, and permanent proof storage. Stripe may charge an
additional processing fee (approx 2.9%) depending on your card issuer.
Trust & Safety
What if the Buyer disappears after I do the work?
This is the "Ghosting" protection. If an Agent uploads valid Proof and
the Buyer does not respond within the review period (typically 72 hours), the Protocol
automatically releases the funds to the Agent. You are protected by the code.
Trust & Safety
What if the work is bad?
The Buyer can "Reject" the proof. This freezes the Pact and alerts the
PACT Admin team. A human arbiter will review the evidence against the original Scope of Work. If the
work is clearly insufficient, a refund is issued. If the work matches the scope, the funds are
released to the Agent.
